This year the committee is excited to announce a few changes in direction for the Oysterfest. Due to feedback from the community, local business and previous stall holders, we are looking to trial the following concepts:
Art & Craft Market, under cover in the McEvoy Marquee
This will be the home of cooking demonstrations with Simon Bryant and performances by the Black String Puppet Theatre, but will predominantly be home to the Oysterfest Art & Craft Market and the EP Tourism Lounge. Site holders may have a single table or a 3m x 3m space, and pricing is being kept low to encourage small stallholders to participate.
We expect that this will lift foot-traffic to stalls, and make it easier for stall holders to set-up and pack-up. Trading times for the Art & Craft market will be from 11am to 6pm both days, and the McEvoy Marquee will be closed outside of these times, except in the event of inclement weather when entertainment may be moved inside to the stage.
Premium Food, Wine & Entertainment Precinct
This fenced area will be the home of the main entertainment stage, competitions, the Oyster Bar and selected premium EP foods. It will licenced for alcohol, and will host beer, wine and cocktail service. Entertainment will be programmed from midday until 11pm. Two large shade marquees will be sited within this zone.
Retail & Amusement Zone
As per previous years, the sideshows will be positioned to the north of the site, and retail, commercial and other food vendors will be located between the amusements and the PFW&E Precinct.
Food Events in Development
Three distinctly different food events are in development, including a new take on the Friday Oysterfest Opening Night Event to be held at the site in the new PFW&E Precinct and incorporating the CBTA Business & Employee of the Year Awards.
The Ceduna Oysterfest is celebrated over the SA Labour Day Long Weekend in October on the foreshore of Murat Bay adjacent to the Ceduna Sailing Club.
